Language evolution

Consider population in generation X(n) ->-> generation X(n+1). Have your own interpretation for the operator ->->. From the linguistic point of view, ->-> could be inheritance or acquisition. If it was inheritance, the English we speak today should have been the same as those days. So ->-> should be acquisition, since the languages are evolving, the mechanism of transferring a language from old to new speakers is flawed(?is flawed the right word?). But the relationship between the acquisition and evolution is very subtle. The next few months I dedicate to formulate computational modes of inquiry into evolutionary linguistics.
